Timo Tuhkanen (link leads to composition area) has studied composition and conducting at Brunel University with Christoper Fox, Richard Barrett, and Peter Wiegold, among others. He has dueted in Bedlamites Dancing with Jukka-Pekka Kervinen, as well as performed with Pink Twins, Markus Wenninger, Mira Calix. Timo was recently accepted as a Phd student at Leeds University where he will be studying with Martin Iddon and Scott McLaughlin.
As well as traditional instrumental and vocal composition, he has produced remixes and remakes of popular and contemporary music, music concrete and field recordings
His compositions use techniques from literature, theater, film, and television techniques in his compositions. One of his main directions of musical research is new operatic forms
